The DTM madness continues
22-5-18 / DTM / Warm-Up
Schaeffler brand ambassador Mike Rockenfeller had a strong start to the DTM season. During the second race at the Hockenheimring, “Rocky” went from ninth place to second place in his green and white Schaeffler Audi RS 5 DTM – making him the best Audi driver of the weekend. For the next event, the DTM is heading to the Lausitzring near Klettwitz, Brandenburg. Although the track has featured in the calendar since the 2000 season, this year sees the race return to the 4.534-kilometer version for the first time since 2004. This change marks new ground for Rockenfeller who first entered the DTM in 2007.
The most extensive race calendar since 1996
With 20 races at ten events, the 2018 DTM calendar is the most extensive one since 1996. Fans can look forward to three premium German manufacturers, some of the world’s most distinguished drivers and a diverse supporting program.
A long DTM tradition
Even in the initial DTM years, Schaeffler and its product brands supported drivers and teams with know-how in motorsport and technology. Since 2011, the technology group has been giving its name to the Schaeffler Audi, celebrating major successes including two title wins. In the DTM, cars with internal combustion engines have traditionally been used. With the help of innovative technologies and products, Schaeffler is working to make IC engines more efficient and fit for the mobility for tomorrow.
