INA Camshaft Phasing Units
For optimal timing
The camshaft phasing unit can directly influence the timing of gas-exchange valves in an internal combustion engine. It realizes early opening or late closing of the intake and exhaust valves. Optimizing camshaft phasing reduces exhaust emissions and fuel consumption. So it’s precisely camshaft phasing that is an important element today in developing downsized engines.
INA offers solenoid control valves, central magnets and adjustment units; along with a line of camshaft phasing units optimized for size requirements and low weight. These are characterized by their extremely high responsiveness.
Note – camshaft phasing systems are employed in both belt-drive and chain-drive engines. That’s why they come in a variety of compact designs and meet different vehicle packaging requirements.
Current mass-produced technologies from INA:
- Axial piston camshaft adjusters
- Vane-type camshaft adjuster
- E-type adjusters
- Reduces emissions
- Reduces fuel consumption
- Improves driving comfort (lowers idle speed)
- Increases torque and output
